We just got our first big snowfall of the season yesterday and after a day being stuck inside with the kids, we ventured out into the world to stave off a quickly growing sense of cabin fever. Since the temperatures were still in the 20s today, the snow hadn’t melted on the roads.
I park in a parking garage every work day. And at least three mornings out of five I get stuck behind “Slow Parking Garage Driver Guy”. First, let me explain how my garage is structured. After you swipe your card and the electronic arm lifts, you drive up a ramp to the first floor.
I like walking when I get on an escalator; you get to the end twice as fast. But we’ve all been stuck behind them, those statues who get on the escalator, with no one remotely close to being in front of them, and they just stand there.
Today a colleague accused me of dismissive to her at work. She didn’t actually accuse me directly; rather she ran to her boss, who in turn told my boss, who then relayed it to me. This all started a couple of weeks ago when the accuser asked me to meet with my boss.
Note to all other drivers waiting at red lights: When I have the green light but I don’t cross the intersection because there are too many other cars in front of me, that’s not a free pass for you to make a right turn into my lane and cut in front of me.
I’m driving home tonight listening to the truly terrible new sports radio station that’s been on the air for a couple of months. The hosts are comprised of a newspaper columnist who has neither a voice nor a face for radio (the face is worse), and a guy who was canned from the other sports
I lead a creative team at my workplace. My team is comprised of very talented print designers, copy writers and web developers, all of whom have been at the company for years and have a rather good sense of our business and customers.
So now, those things make me mad, so mad. Makes me so mad is a running collection of them. Generally, I’m not a mad person; these things are mostly fleeting. But fleeting.com was already taken.
